WHAT TO WEAR
YOUR WARDROBE

Planning the perfect wardrobe is extremely important to the outcome of your photos. You want your outfits to reflect you and your personality, but you also want to make sure that they are tied together to help create portraits that you are going to love down the road.

For your wardrobe, please pick out 4-5 outfits AT THE MINIMUM! Honestly, if you don't know what to bring, bring your whole wardrobe! It is better to have too much than too little.

Avoid bringing clothes that are all white or black and make sure that you're bringing clothes that are different from one another. Even though it may be a white dress and a white top, when we photograph you, it will look like you're wearing the same outfit in a lot of the photos.

I love color, but not too much color. This means to avoid bringing clothes that are neon/fluorescent colored since this will reflect light in an unflattering way. If you're not sure what colors work best for you, use the skin tone guide below! When picking your outfits, try to follow this as closely as possible to make sure that you love your photos and everything translates perfectly on camera!

Every senior should bring these items: Dark wash jeans and shoes that are easy to walk in (flats). We will be walking a lot and dark wash jeans pair well with everything!

When you're done, please text me photos of your outfits laid out on the floor! You don't have to be wearing them since this is just to give me an idea of how the colors will look with the locations I will help you pick and make sure that you have enough variety that we can create some amazing portraits!

GOING PRO

HAIR & MAKEUP

No matter if your having your hair & makeup done professionally, or doing it yourself, do not worry! We are here to make sure it goes perfectly! Below are a few must-knows to get you ready and make sure that your makeup is camera ready and exactly how you envisioned yourself looking in your senior photos.

PORTRAIT PERFECT FACE MUST-KNOWS

Be sure to get a good night’s rest prior to your session day... there is nothing attractive about puffiness and bags under the eyes. Apply some ice cold tea bags to your eyes if you wake up with any issues.

PORTRAIT PERFECT FACE MUST-KNOWS

Don’t tan in the natural sun or tanning beds for an entire 2 weeks before your session. You could appear really red or even burnt. Your natural skin color photographs best as it can actually reflect the light from our shoot beautifully!

PORTRAIT PERFECT FACE MUST-KNOWS

For the entire week before your session, use your toothbrush to brush your lips vigorously. Then apply Vaseline to your lips and sleep in it. This will make your lips smooth and ready for lipstick. Chapped lips looks awful in camera (and let’s face it, in life too).

PORTRAIT PERFECT FACE MUST-KNOWS

Having makeup and hair done? Pictures from magazines of makeup and hair styles that you like are always helpful to bring with you. It gives the artist an idea of the type of look you are going for. Bring several ideas from my or your own Pinterest boards!

PORTRAIT PERFECT FACE MUST-KNOWS

Exfoliate with a physical exfoliator at least 2 days prior to your application session. It will help reduce dry patches and texturing. It will also smooth your skin which will make your foundation apply smoothly to your face.

PORTRAIT PERFECT FACE MUST-KNOWS

Wash your face thoroughly before your session and apply a hydrating moisturizer. The foundation will apply more evenly if your face is prepped and ready before any color is applied.

PORTRAIT PERFECT FACE MUST-KNOWS

Try to avoid using products containing salicylic acid at least 3 days before your appointment. It can leave your skin red and extremely dry which can look patchy and textured.

PORTRAIT PERFECT FACE MUST-KNOWS

Be sure to wear a loose, light colored shirt with a large neckhole or a button up for easy removal after your makeup & hair session. You don’t want to smudge your face with your favorite shirt!

PORTRAIT PERFECT FACE MUST-KNOWS

Please GROOM your brows so they look clean! There’s nothing more messy than errant hairs! Do not have your eyebrows waxed for at least a week before your session. It can cause a lot of redness and swelling, or even some scabbing!

YOU ARE WORTHY!

IMAGE PREVIEW

Approximately two weeks after your session we will have your Image Preview & Ordering Session! This is when you get to see your images for the very first time!

During this time, we'll sit together to LIVE DESIGN all of your products. What this means is that I will help you design exactly how your albums and wall art collections will look so that you know how everything looks before it is even sent off to my professional print labs!

Since this is the one time that we are together to order your products, it's crucial that everyone who wants a say in the decision making process is there to help! This is when we'll be placing your order and picking which products work best for your family.

Payment is also due this day. If you need a refresher on pricing, you can view the pricing in the Senior Pricing Guide that you received in your welcome packet.

Once we've finished your Image Preview, I will finish designing all of your archive quality photo products, make sure everything looks perfect and get them sent off to the lab! After they have come back from the lab, I'll check one more time to make sure everything is flawless, package them up in the signature CSP wrapping and email you letting you know that your photos are ready!

CUSTOM GALLERY COLLECTIONS

REIMAGINE WALL ART

At CSP, we believe that your images shouldn't just sit on your phone or a USB drive collecting dust and that you should be displaying them for everyone you love to see. Portraits document who you are as a person and that's why at CSP we want to make sure you're remembering those moments by offering custom wall art options for every client!

When you choose a wall art collection, we will design each piece to make sure it's optimized for your space as well as making sure everything looks great together using live design software, so you can see your space come to life.

If you believe you will be choosing a canvas or wall art collection, please make sure to have the spaces where you envision installing them measured so that we can best design the collection to fit perfectly in your home.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

01

HOW MANY OUTFITS SHOULD I BRING?

Please bring as many outfits as you think you might even possibly want to use during your session! It’s better to have too many than too few. We usually get through about 4-5 outfits, but sometimes more!

02

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?

While summer sessions are rarely rained out, if the weather is looking bad, I will let you know that we’re rescheduling to a better, sunnier day!

03

CAN I BRING A FRIEND?

Yes! And it’s encouraged!! It’s always more fun when you’re with your best friend and then we can grab some best friend photos.

04

I'M NOT USED TO HAVING MY MAKEUP DONE PROFESSIONALLY...SHOULD I WORRY?

You absolutely shouldn’t worry! If there’s anything you don’t care for, please let the makeup artist know. They are super nice and want you to love your makeup and will not be upset!
